VMware NSX is revolutionizing networking and security for next generation data centers. VMware is looking for you to contribute to these projects at all stages: research, analysis, prototyping and development for multiple groups in the Networking and Security business unit of VMware.
The NSX Edge Services team provides the critical network services required to on-ramp/off-ramp traffic to/from the data center, including perimeter routing (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS L3VPN, EVPN), firewalls, user & site VPNs, elastic load balancers and DNS/DHCP/IP services. We also take advantage of virtualization to provide flexible placement, N+1 redundancy, runtime load balancing, and per-tenant resource management. These logical, scale-out services are programmatically deployed on a per-tenant or app basis, solving the choke point and provisioning issues commonly seen in current architectures.

We are looking for a senior level engineer on the team. You will focus primarily on the routing functionality of the logical edge router for our current and future version of NSX.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Analyze product requirements and functional specifications of NSX product suite
You will identify best test strategies and define test automation and code coverage activities of the next generation of NSX product suite.
Design and execute test cases that ensure best coverage for the respective feature/module.
You will design, implement, execute and maintain tests using perl/python
Build maintainable, high quality and effective automated tests on top of various automation tools and frameworks
Interact with other development teams, QA, Documentation, Release Engineering to execute on product goals
Provide strong testing, debugging and documentation skills
Be self-motivated and proactively manage time and tasks
Competencies:
10 + years of Experience.
Test automation methodologies is mandatory
PERL, Shell or Python scripting is mandatory.
Knowledge of OSPF/BGP is desirable.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, L2 Bridging, VLANs, Firewall/NAT, packet capture, and analysis is desirable.
Software engineering (QA methodologies)
Knowledge of Linux & Windows system administration.
Excellent communication skills
