Specifications of position:
Responsibilities:
• Work as a member of a geographically distributed DBA team, supporting multiple data centers around the world.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation for 24x7, client-facing production applications.
• Support daily operations. Resolve trouble tickets and troubleshoot highly critical production environments.
• Work closely with all IT teams to support large and complex database environments with Microsoft Clustering, high availability and performance, and offsite disaster recovery.
• Manage all aspects of database administration in a Windows Server clustered environment including installation, configuration, patching, documentation, backups, optimization, maintenance, and monitoring of SQL Server databases.
• Setup actionable alerting to proactively manage systems. Monitor database jobs and system activity, profile load and performance bottlenecks, and audit security events. Propose and make improvements.
• Build repeatable and documented processes. Automate routine tasks.
• Follow ITIL best practices, including Change Management, Incident Management and Problem Management.
• Stay abreast of current trends and emerging technologies in the field.
• Work extended or flexible schedules when necessary or when requested by Management.
Should work in a IC role.
Required:
• Must be very client-centric and responsive, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 7+ years Microsoft SQL Server 2012 administration experience, preferably in a hosting and/or corporate, 24x7, highly available, environment and migration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a current Microsoft DBA certification.
• Expert skills in T/SQL and PowerShell scripting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SQL Server engine internals, query execution plans, query optimization and performance tuning.
• In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery, optimization, and maintenance strategies.
Experience with SSIS, Reporting Services, SSRS, Analysis Services, IIS, and Active Directory.
