POSITION SUMMARY:
As Technical Project Leader, you will have overall technical responsibility for development and technical support of several of Organization's core HR applications. You will lead internal and external developers, and work closely with a cross-functional team consisting of Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to provide high quality applications which respond to and meet the business needs of the entire organization. You will be expected to provide technical guidance, oversight and coordination of development resources to successfully execute HR application development and implementation projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
⢠Under the direction of an HR Application Development manager, work with the HR organization in the planning and execution of application development projects for core HR and compensation applications
⢠Direct internal and external developers on projects, enhancements and production support, providing technical guidance and performing code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to group standards
⢠Participate in hands-on development work as required, particularly on complex requirements requiring strong technical and domain knowledge
⢠Have overall responsibility for the health of the core HR applications, in terms of quality of the program code and operational effectiveness, from a technical standpoint
⢠Stay abreast of development tools, trends and practices, and act as an evangelist for items that should be considered for future initiatives
⢠Communicate development plans, schedules and status to Service Owners, Project Managers and other stakeholders
⢠Participate in and direct team members in creating and maintaining technical documentation
⢠Have overall responsibility for release planning, communication and deployment activities
⢠Provide management of one or more direct reports, providing mentoring, career guidance and performance reviews to staff
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education
⢠College degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 6 years of experience in application development, or equivalent mix of education and experience
Experience/Knowledge
⢠Strong knowledge of Web tools, technologies and protocols, with experience developing standards-compliant sites using HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery, XML and related technologies and frameworks
⢠Expertise in Microsoft ASP.NET/MVC and C#
⢠Experience with Classic ASP and/or MS Office (VBA) desired
⢠Understanding of SCM tools and practices, experience with Team Foundation Server desired
⢠Experience estimating, planning and technical management of application development projects or significant pieces of projects
⢠Experience working with external application development providers
⢠Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud development strategies
⢠Strong background in database design and development, particularly with Oracle and/or SQL Server
⢠Prior experience working with HR applications (either custom developed or vendor solutions) a plus
* Occasional international travel may be required
