Support Engineer- Project Server

Purpose:
To provide responsive and reliable support for Microsoft's Premier customers, ranging from small business to large Fortune 100 IT organizations. This Support position focuses on assisting project managers, administrators and IT departments in moderate to complex technical issues with Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Project Server. This will also include assisting customer's in deploying and/or implementing the Microsoft Project (EPM) solution.
Responsibilities include:
- Communicate effectively with corporate customers via can include onsite, telephone and written correspondence regarding customer's problems or needs involving Microsoft Project or Microsoft Project Server.
- Solve complex level of problems, involving broad, in-depth product knowledge or in-depth product specialty and may include support of additional product line.
- Responsible for efficiently managing the relationship with these customers and thoroughly documenting the issue within the case/incident. This includes building and maintaining internal teams or groups relationships.
- Learn to become familiar with technologies supported by the team and continually improve personal knowledge and skills.
Technical Requirements:
- Solid understanding of standard computer and networking concepts, is required.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server 2003-08 and Windows Platforms
- A degree of knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in SQL Server and/or Internet Fundamentals
Desirable Technical expertise:
- Project Management background and a Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project (Preferred).
- Internet Information Services/ASP/Security
- SharePoint 2.0 and/or 3.0 installation, configuration and administration
- Programming and debugging skills in one or more of the following: SQL, VB, VBA, C#, Xml, ASP.NET
Education:
College degree, preferably in Computer Science, is required or at least 3 yrs in related field (or equivalent) experience.
