Job Descriptions
• Emerging technology monitoring Maintains awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address challenges or to enable new ways of working. Within own sphere of influence, works to further organisational goals, by the study and use of emerging technologies and products. Contributes to briefings and presentations about their relevance and potential value to the organisation.
Programming/software development Sets local or team-based standards for programming tools and techniques, including security guidelines, and the selection of appropriate development methods. Advises on application of standards and methods and ensures compliance. Takes technical responsibility for all stages and/or iterations in a software development project, providing method specific technical advice and guidance to project stakeholders. Assigns work packages, monitors performance and manages change control dynamically, to optimise productivity. Provides advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.
Systems design Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems. Delivers technical visualisation of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers. Translates logical designs into physical designs, and produces detailed design documentation. Maps work to user specification and removes errors and deviations from specification to achieve user-friendly processes
Identify and establish team performance targets, and ensure the team works efficiently towards achieving them.
• Play a primary role in identifying opportunities for process change to enhance service and efficiency. Be responsible for implementing change and process improvement.
• Responsible for assuring the performance of team members, ensuring adequate delegation and follow-up of project specific tasks take place.
• Support delivery of quality product releases.
• Deliver a positive, memorable and meaningful service which exceeds the expectations of both the internal and external customer.
• Design and development of our suite of products supporting the life sciences industry.
Skills
Strong experience in Microsoft technologies (C#, WCF, WPF, Windows Service, SQL Server etc.)
Hands-on experience in TFS, aware of branching, merging etc.
Experience in web technologies like HTML5, Javascript, Angular JS would be highly desirable.
Aware of technologies like REST, BI
Strong debugging and analytical skills
Strong fundamental in OOPS, Design patters etc.
Business and domain acumen
Good people management skills. Should be able to mentor technical resources
Ability to involve in discussions such as appraisals and career growth of the team members
Very good communication skills both verbal & written
Articulate and should be able to express ideas and issues without inhibitions
Ability to drive discussions towards conclusions
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Innovative thinking in problem solving.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Understanding of core Agile project management and software engineering practices
