Senior DBA will perform a very critical role of managing/coordinating/controlling the Oracle DBA and
Microsoft SQL DBA skills .
Role
• Supporting the entire Database Operations (end-to-end) including Oracle, MS-SQL Servers and
others.
• In-depth knowledge of EBS R12 and Database 11g & 12c environments.
• Strong experience in SQL Server 2012, 2014 implementation, support and upgrades.
• Implementing, Supporting various DB & Cluster Installation on single/multi nodes on various
platforms (Windows/Linux)
• Perform Integrations between various components using different technology products like
WebLogic, SOA Suite, SSO, IDM, EPM, ODI, Content Management and BI implementations
etc.
• Implement DR (standby) environment for various database and Applications across the
organization
• Database Upgrades, Migrations, Cloning, Patching, and troubleshooting various databases.
• Performance Tuning at various Database & OS Components
• Applying Extensive Backup and Recovery methods, backup tuning and troubleshooting.
• Applying Strong Database Security policies and procedures, Implement user security measures
and guidelines.
• ERP R12 implementation & Support, Installations on Single Node and Multi Node (RAC to RAC)
& Apps Cloning & Patching & Migrations.
• Implementing Java, JDK and JRE upgrades across platforms/servers.
• Managed and Administer GBs/TBs of databases across the organization supporting various
applications.
• Planning the Automation of Database operations using various Tools & Utilities etc.
• Performing the entire system administration tasks for HRMS, Financials and Logistic Modules
• Supporting the Functional Consultant & Developers in various administration tasks.
• Write/Manage UNIX Shell scripts to automate tasks, scheduling jobs for Alerts etc.
• Storage Management of DB Space issues, Table spaces, Segments and Extents, Rollback
Segments & Data Dictionary.
• Diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity, security and database corruption issues in
critical production environments.
• Responsible for contacting Oracle Support for P1/S1 SRs.
• Perform lead/supervisor duties as and when assigned.
• Any other support tasks, which that would be assigned to manage the workload.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction from database operations perspective
for MSSQL/Oracle Projects.
• Provide direction both strategically and tactically for all database upgrades.
• Provide technical solutions for operations readiness of our data centers.
• Control system resources usage and perform capacity planning, perform troubleshooting and
diagnostics activities;
• Collect and analyze database performance information; identify and implement solutions for
performance problems
• Query optimization and tuning skills, analysis and troubleshooting interactions between
databases, operating systems and applications with regard to performance and resources
usage
• Experience in database programming concepts including structured query language, stored
procedures and triggers
• Creating database tables, setting up indexes, data constraints and DB views Analyze, predict
through trend analysis and resolve database system, storage and application issues
• Monitor SQL jobs in production and be responsible for load/hardware analysis mapping, fault
tolerance and security.
• Manage the indexing, database consistency checks, back-ups/recovery, security, replication,
log shipping, etc.
• Evaluate and implement database best practices for addressing gaps and come up with
automation solutions
• Review and implement database changes
• Provide timely response to system alerts and participate in the on-call schedule (if applicable)
• Drive Operational efficiency topics.
• Work closely with Internal/External Stakeholders, Development Architects/Managers &
developers, across locations and ensure timely delivery.
• Excellent written and communication skills, Strong customer focus, highly motivated &Flexible
• Participate and contribute towards organization’s goals and objectives, collaborating with
multiple teams and solutions.
• Mentor and Guide junior members of the team
• Manage change requests for DBA initiated changes ensuring accurate and timely
communication and coordination of changes across client and customer teams as per current
client standards and procedures
Required Skills
• BS/BCA/MCA in Computers Science or Engineering or related subject.
• Around 10 + years of overall database administration and support/operations experience, with
a successful delivery record of accomplishment.
• OCA, OCP, EBS, MCSE, MS-SQL Server certifications will be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of all Windows OS/Unix/Linux versions
• Strong OS/Database Clusters & VMWare, Storage + Backup Solutions etc.
• Strong understanding of Networking, Security and Sys Admin Tasks
• Must have done real-time Implementation of Oracle/SQL Server Databases along with Clusters
and E-Business Suites on Multi Node Environments.
• Subject Matter Expert in the current technical support area.
• Should have had delivery ownership roles.
• Experience of working in large landscape/environment where multiple database flavors are
running.
• Master in Oracle / SQL Server / database administration.
• Hands on experience with expert knowledge of Unix/Linux flavors.
• Good understanding of operational framework like ITIL/ITSM.
• Should be capable of Owning, Leading and coordinate operational tasks, customer escalations,
process improvements.
• Excellent presentation & communication skills are a must
• Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
• Implementation/GO Live and Support Experience of various databases, clusters and
applications in a real time environment.
• Must have strong experience on Core Database, RAC, ASM, and SQL Servers with Clusters,
Oracle EBS, and Forms/Reports etc.
• In-depth knowledge of EBS R12 and Database 11g & 12c environments.
