This is a senior role that demands strong understanding of windows development in C#, C++ and user interfaces in WPF, MFC Duties and responsibilities • Architect and own desktop software applications • Design, Code & Test Windows-based applications • Provide technical and project leadership to other team members • Contribute to a team of product specialists • Provide third-level support to field engineers • Maintain released products • Liaise with other departments including Product Support, Technical Authors & SQA • Comply with company standards & procedures • Job may involve some International travel Supervises: yes , may supervise and lead junior members of the team Qualifications • BE (Electronics ) or Post Graduate Experience • 8+ years of embedded software development experience. Knowledge, Skills and abilities required KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge & Experience • C# and .NET 4.0/4.5 development experience using Visual Studio environment • C++ development experience using Visual Studio environments • Experience in WPF, WCF, MFC • Experience in object-oriented design, modern design and architecture patterns • Experience in Microsoft environment and PC operating systems • Experience in any of the following would be favourable: SKILLS : • SQL • Software Localisation • UML • Serial Communications • Visual Basic • Mobile software development • Experience in writing software for engineering companies • Experience in shared software projects • Good English Personal Attributes • Interpersonal skills to operate in a small team and with other teams • Good communicator, both verbally and in writing • Highly motivated • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques • Quick to learn • Tenacious in problem solving WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS • Sitting for prolonged periods of time in offices and meetings. • Use of computer keyboard and attention to PC monitor often for prolonged periods.
