Senior UI Developer
Background Description:
A Senior UI Developer provides technical leadership, insights, and motivation to a team of UI developers, working towards delivering reliable, efficient, high quality software solutions, writing impeccable solutions, and delivering features, enhancements, bug fixes and other deliverables on time. In addition to leadership, a Senior UI Developer drives the development, delivery, and maintenance of software solutions including designing, coding and testing of software to ensure solution quality before deployment. A Senior UI Developer provides a range of front-end technical solutions across a diverse set of platforms and technologies, focused on seamless integration as needed. In addition, a Senior UI Developer is expected to multi-task, teach, and coach developers.
Key Responsibilities:
â— Lead Front-End Design
o Conducts analysis of provided requirements and design documents to determine the best approach to a front-end solution.
o Researches and recommends software tools/frameworks/products and/or emerging technologies as needed for a solution.
o Leads and/or creates architecture and/or design as needed to meet the requirements, integrate disparate systems, or manage changing technologies.
o Organize, direct and mentor the team.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams including creative design, user experience, product management, and back end development.
o Sets quality expectations by the creation, documentation, and enforcing of code quality standards.
â— Develop
o Analyzes design requirements, specifications, and user interaction models to translate them into actionable work units for the team to prototype and develop using the established coding standards and development best practices
o Analyze, design, coordinate and supervise the development of front-end solutions. Responsible for proofing software to ensure quality and alignment to standards and best practices
o Analyzes, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and/or provides guidance or expertise in resolution of defects or bugs in the software. Known as an expert in defect resolution in area of expertise.
o Proficient in planning and performing all development job functions in an efficient manner, without Leadership involvement
Basic Qualifications:
â— Preferred majors are Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Sciences, or other STEM related majors.
Professional Skill Requirements and Experience:
◠Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software design and development and/or demonstration of equivalent experience
â— Architecture / Design
o Learns emerging technologies quickly and able to apply new architectures, design patterns, and technologies to resolve design challenges as needed to resolve problems.
o Expert knowledge and experience in providing front-end solutions with consideration for cross browser and mobile platform optimization..
â— Technical
o Expert knowledge and experience with front-end (i.e. TypeScript, AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.) design and programming technologies.
o Familiarity with targeted Kinnser languages (.NET C#, ColdFusion, AngularJS, etc.)
o Strong understanding of semantic HTML web markup & CSS.
o Strong understanding of modern Javascript design patterns.
o Extensive experience with asynchronous request handling and REST APIs.
o Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
o Expert knowledge of computer program design methodologies and techniques (i.e. Scrum, Waterfall, etc..).
o Ability to learn new programming languages quickly and proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and processes.
o Strong knowledge of security and encryption.
o Proven experience and proficiency in identifying performance bottlenecks and updating or modifying design and/or code to improve operational efficiency.
o Ability to work with cross functional teams to ensure the integrity of design and user experience standards are maintained throughout development.
â— Engagement Delivery
o Proven ability to work with product and team leads on providing a list of objectives and work/hour estimates for these objectives.
