We are building a product within Amazon which will revolutionize recruiting technology. As a software engineer, you likely have completed online coding assessments. Have you ever wished these assessments and platforms were better? We are seeking to build a product which will disrupt this technology while providing a superior candidate experience. Would you like to help us build the best interview experience which will delight your fellow software engineers?
This project will have high visibility to both a tech VP and HR VP within Amazon. As an engineer, you would be coming in early in the life cycle as we scope the requirements. Most the development will be done from scratch and allow you to leave your impact. We have really innovative ideas on how to take assessment to the next level, but would be seeking your inputs too!
We're looking for someone with superior technical knowledge in current web development technologies. Successful members of this team collaborate effectively with business users, aggressive cross-functional software development teams, and technical support/sustaining engineering teams to solve problems, implement new demand generation solutions, and deliver successfully against high operational standards of system availability and reliability. We are looking for engineers who are excellent communicators, self-motivated, flexible, hardworking, and who like to have fun.
Basic Qualifications
*BS degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of industry experience developing large scale distributed software systems
*Extensive experience programming in OO language (Java, C++, C#) and design patterns
*Developing high traffic customer facing applications
*Strong knowledge of data structures, and designing for performance, scalability, and availability
*Knowledge in SQL, XML, and Web services
Preferred Qualifications
*Proficiency in Front-end Web Development Languages is a big plus.
*Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
*Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
*Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
*Experience in mentoring and driving junior developers in the team to a collective objective.
*Ability to communicate the ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
*Interface with business teams and convert their business requirements to technical requirements.
