We have an exciting opportunity in the Service Engineering space who is passionate about Live Site health, reliability and design.
We are looking for an IC (Individual Contributor) who is ready to be a part of a team that moves fast, leverages continuous delivery practices, and is centered at the customer experience. This position requires strong collaboration and teamwork across team and organizational boundaries, playing a vital role in engineering services that delight the customer.
Your ability to be the customer advocate, focus on service first, and part of a team that tears down silos to deliver the best customer experience will be critical to your success, along with the teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a team environment, experience running and designing enterprise scale services and platforms, technical depth in cloud platforms, agile development practices, and experience in designing & tuning telemetry. In addition, this position requires an individual who can demonstrate the ability to ensure highly resilient and scalable service designs through partnership with other members of the service team.
Responsibilities:
ü Participate and contribute in design, architecture, and code reviews, develop strategies for design, and architect technical services, including end-to-end systems, networks, and platforms.
ü Ability to read, write, configure/refactor code and design for end-to-end service telemetry, alerting and self-healing capabilities on point solutions. Scripting skills in PowerShell others.
ü Proven capability in creation and adoption of Service Engineering Technology Patterns & Practices.
ü Experience in automating provisioning, configuration and deployment using Microsoft Development Tools to accelerate the delivery process.
ü Proven capability in developing and implementing tools & plugins to monitor performance, uptime, and availability metrics to help improve quality of services.
ü Proven experience with automation frameworks, develops data driven test automation scripts and executes performance, load & endurance testing of application services.
ü Participate & collaborate with software engineering teams to engineer resilient and scalable application & services.
ü Ability to lead service teams through Live Site Reviews and corrective action plans.
ü Experience in representing the Service for backlog discussions with the Software Engineering teams.
Competencies:
ü Development & Management (Strong DB) experience with Services/Apps running on MSSQL Server 2008/2012, IIS (7/8), in an enterprise scale 24x7 production environment with HA.
ü Familiarity & Experience in C#, ASP.NET, XML, HTML, T-SQL, REST, ODATA, JSON, PowerShell with ability to code, automate scripts and Integrate monitoring platforms.
ü Solid working knowledge various Monitoring tools like SCOM, Orchestrator (SCORCH), SQL monitoring and Synthetic monitoring.
ü Windows Azure Offerings, Architecture and its components (Fabric, Compute, Storage).
ü Experience in MOF/ITIL processes and along with exposure to waterfall and agile development methodologies.
ü Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision making skills.
ü Demonstrated interest in customer advocacy derived from a holistic understanding of the product from the code level to delivery.
ü Creativity and innovation, Fast learner and Drive for results.
ü Methodical approach and attention to detail
Design/Architecture
ü Extensive understanding and hand on experience in integration, message orientation, event driven and other Enterprise architectural patterns.
ü Strong understanding of SOA, pros and cons and best practices.
ü Extensive business process and UML modeling experience and ability to communicate models effectively to development team.
ü Good understanding of Enterprise scale technologies and developing large scale out services.
ü Ability to evaluate architectural options (complexity, performance, high-availability, scalability, durability) and make right recommendation for implementation.
ü Understanding of information architecture and data modeling concepts
Preferred, Not Required:
ü Experience using telemetry to understand throughput, limitations and constraints in a service
ü Experience in defining cost per transaction or per user, based on service configuration
ü Experience identifying services appropriate for hosting on PaaS and IaaS offerings, as well as migration to internal or external SaaS providers
ü Specialized knowledge of software & network components such as CDNs
ü Experience in Infrastructure and Configuration as code, as well as service auto-scale capabilities
ü Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related sciences
